The world trains you to shrink, to mask, to apologize and to "fit in." I help autistic, disabled, and LGBTQ+ adults and teens feel safe enough to show their full self with support that honors who you really are.

Andy is the best! He helped me so much with my divorce  and is the most spirited therapist I ever had. I loved how I looked forward to getting his advice every week, and making meaningful improvements in my daily life. 10/10 would talk to again!

-Michael

Andy helped me understand myself better as a late-diagnosed autistic adult. He gave lots of practical tips as to how to better interact with a largely non-autistic world. He has a rock solid understanding of autism and  communication challenges that come with it. I highly recommend his practice!

-Jean

Not following the stereotypical one-sided therapy structure, Andy turns a vulnerable session into a validating, warm conversation by balancing his approach as both lighthearted and serious.

MY PRACTICE

ABOUT ME

I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Oregon. I work with people with autism and other disabilities, as well as their loved ones and families.

As someone who grew up with multiple invisible disabilities, I struggled a lot with fitting in, feeling less than and "coming out" with various disabilities.

With disability comes impairment, but also identity.
I believe sometimes we focus too hard on the "fix it" and forget to celebrate disability as a form of diversity.

I am also a member of the LGBTQ+ family and I work with anyone facing challenges around sexual orientation or gender identity.

Throughout our time together, you can expect a focus on interpersonal practices, narrative therapy, person-in-environment perspective and lot of healthy humor.
I believe that the greatest change starts with reshaping the stories we tell ourselves.

EXPERIENCE

I have 10+ years of experience working in special ed and Applied Behavior Analysis. These programs can be a great support to individuals with autism, but they can also be harmful in making them feel ashamed for simply being different. My goal in therapy is to work with you to determine the right balance of skill-building, acceptance, and pride. I hope we can laugh a bit along the way too.
